Description

The Queen's flag I recently saw in Thailand was quite different from the royal standard in FOTW (Garuda on yellow background). (...) The Queen's flag is her crown (different from the king's) and her name in Thai character on blue (the shade is lighter than blue of Thai national flag, I would say the blue shade is like Micronesian national flag).

I recently brought back this flag from Thailand. It is the Queen's flag.

German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung of 19 August 2001, p. 41, reported about the festivities of Thai people in Munich celebrating the 70th birthday of Thai Queen Sirikit. A photo (scan here) showed a blue flag with some white device (partly hidden by flowers). Anybody knows, what this is?

Marcus Schmöger, 19 September 2002

The blue flag is the Thai queen's personal standard. H.M. Queen Sirikit was born on 12 August 1932 and married H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej on 28 April 1950. Her emblem is made up of two Thai initials —standing for her name— beneath her crown. Her flag bears the emblem in the center of a light blue field.

The personal standard of H.M. Queen Sirikit is a light blue flag with her emblem.
